The Atkins Diet
The Atkins Diet or the Low Carbohydrate Diet is probably the most popular diet at the moment.It works in the reverse of many traditional diets, this diet allows for unlimited quantities of meat and diary products, which are traditionally considered the’bad’ foods, due to their high fat content.Basically any food that is not fatty is not allowed on this diet.Small quantities of vegetables are allowed on a daily basis.On this diet you can eat as much fat andoil as you want – cheese, butter, oil, meat and eggs.The catch is that there is NO BREAD ALLOWED.Of course the less you eat the more weight you will lose, so it is a myth that you can eat unlimited quantities of these foods.You should also try to exercise at least three time a week and drink about 8glasses of water a day to help you lose weight faster.
Day 1 Sample Meal Menu:
- Breakfast – Sausages and eggs ora cheese omelets
- Lunch -Caesar salad with no crot ons, or cheese burgers with no bun.
- Snack – String Cheese or cold cuts.
- Dinner – Steak or lean chicken.Any meat is fine.
- Drink only diet soda or water – nothing with caffeine in it.No alcohol.
Weight loss in the beginning will be quick.You will lose a lot of water in the beginning, so drink more.After about ten days you can add carbohydrates slowly back into your diet. Start eating one apple a day or something with a small about of carbohydrates.
If you like meat, cheese and eggs this diet should be easy to follow for you.Otherwise you’ll probably just starve or cheat because there are so many limitations on what you can eat.Eating out is especially difficult.If you do decide to go this diet make sure that all foods containing carbs are removed from your house.The first week will be especially difficult, but afte wards your cravings for other foods will subside a bit.
